What is embroidery?

Embroidery is the art or craft of decorating fabric or other materials using a needle to apply thread or yarn. It involves creating designs by stitching onto a base material, typically fabric, although other materials like leather or paper can also be embroidered. The stitches can form intricate patterns, images, or text, and embroidery can range from simple designs to highly complex and detailed artwork. Embroidery is often used to embellish clothing, accessories, household textiles like pillowcases or tablecloths, and even decorative art pieces. It's been practiced for centuries across various cultures and continues to be popular in both traditional and contemporary forms of craft and design.
